Toughened insulated glass
Toughened Insulated Glass (also known as tempered insulated glass) is a high-performance glazing solution that combines the safety and strength of toughened (tempered) glass with the thermal and acoustic insulation properties of an insulated glass unit (IGU). This type of glass consists of two or more toughened glass panes separated by a spacer bar and sealed to create an air- or gas-filled cavity (typically argon or krypton), which enhances energy efficiency.
Toughened glass is heat-treated to increase its strength and impact resistance, making it 4-5 times stronger than regular annealed glass. When broken, it shatters into small, blunt pieces, reducing the risk of injury. Insulated glass provides excellent thermal insulation, noise reduction, and condensation control, making it ideal for modern architectural applications such as facades, windows, doors, and skylights.
