Product Introduction:

The instrument is mainly composed of three parts: gas supply cylinder, electrical control box and specimen fixture. The precision low-range digital pressure measurement system is used to accurately measure the test pressure value. The test gas is compressed air or nitrogen, and the specimen grip is suitable for specimens with a cylindrical cross-section, and the grips ensure that the gas can only pass through the pores of the specimen during the test and does not leak from the edge of the specimen.

 

How it works:
     In this method, the pore size of the membrane is determined by using the principle of capillary action by gas bubble pressure method, and the surface tension of the sizing affects the size of the measured pore size. According to the principle of capillary action, when the capillary with radius r is wetted by liquid A with a surface tension of σ, the relationship between P2 and P1 can be described by the Laplace equation when the relative pressure of the capillary liquid P2 and the pressure P1 of the gas phase (liquid B is the gas phase) reach static equilibrium:
 
ΔP=P2-P1=2σcosθ/r is the contact angle (the contact angle of the cylindrical is 0)
     
    When the pressure difference between the two ends of the pore is greater than 2σcosθ/r, the liquid in the capillary will be removed, and the gas bubble pressure method is based on this principle to determine the pore size of porous materials. In the actual measurement, a liquid with known surface tension fully (saturates) wets the porous ceramic material pores (vacuumed or boiled), fixes the pressure at one end of the porous material, and creates a pressure difference with air or nitrogen at the other end. When the pressure difference is large to a certain value, the maximum pore size of the porous material is opened first, and the pore size is calculated according to the above formula.
