PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
SilClar 780 is synthetic amorphous silica dioxide (SiO2). It has high adsorption capacity for soluble impurities, for example off-odors/flavors, polar components in the oil.
APPLICATION
SilClar 780 is used for the purification of fryer oils to extend the oil useful life and improve the quality of fried food. SilClar 780 is a dust-free, pure white powder that is added to the oil to adsorb oil impurities and off-flavors, and to be removed by filtration following a brief contact time.
TREATMENT PROCEDURE
Daily treatment with SilClar 780 is usually recommended, the exact procedure will vary depending upon the type of equipment used. Followings are some general guidelines to be followed:
n The oil should be treated at or just below frying temperature, typically about 160-170℃.
n Turn off the fryer’s heater, scatter SilClar 780 powder slowly into the oil directly, after mixing the powder with oil, completely drain the oil into filter tank. Be careful with hot oil. Dosage of SilClar will vary depending upon the oil status. As a starting point we recommend 1% by weight of the oil.
n Circulate the oil through the filter for about 5 minutes.
n When the oil gets clean and transparent, pump back all the oil.
PACKAGING INFORMATION
SilClar 780 is packed in 80g/sachet. 10kg/bag and 30kg/bag are also available. Net weight and layout of package can be tailor-made according to request.
HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
SilClar 780 meets the requirements of the FDA for food applications. It is completely non-combustible and non-crystalline. Information to date indicates that the dust from the product is not toxic and does not cause fibrosis. There are no known hazards by ingestion or contacting skin.
