Zinc alloy sacrificial anode is suitable for cathodic protection of metal components in seawater, fresh seawater, soil and other media with temperature below 50℃ and resistivity less than 15 ω.m. Zinc alloy sacrificial anodes are used in ships, port facilities, Marine engineering, buried metal pipelines, storage tanks, seawater cooling systems and other sacrificial anodes for cathodic protection of steel structures. Zinc alloy sacrificial anodes have good self-solubility, low current efficiency and good self-regulation of anode current. Cathodic protection against metal corrosion for ships, machinery and equipment, Marine engineering and seaport facilities in seawater and fresh water media, as well as pipelines and cables in low-resistance soil

Sacrificial anodes can't just be left anywhere. Some people think that you can install a sacrificial anode anywhere, or even attach it to a string and hang it on the side - they're wrong! The farther zinc is from the metal it protects, the less effective it is. Zinc anodes are effective and you need to clean metal-to-metal contact - either by installing zinc directly into the metal to be protected or by connecting two wires. When installing zinc directly, make sure the surface is clean to install the anode to ensure good electrical contact. Suspension anodes provide protection only when connected by wire to the metal being protected. Do not apply zinc. The paint on the bottom of the zinc anode will suffocate it, so it cannot perform its duties, making it useless.
