Nylon, also known as polyamide in Chinese and Polyamide in English, is a general term for thermoplastic resins containing repeating amide groups - [NHCO] - on the main molecular chain. Its name is determined by the specific number of carbon atoms in the synthesized monomer. It was invented by renowned chemist Carlos and his research team from DuPont, the largest chemical industry company in the United States.
