When it comes to adopting new technologies, the process automation community has long been a fairly conservative group - for good reason. However, the epidemic seems to have only accelerated the widespread acceptance of the cloud as an important extension of internal automation systems. TRICONEX 4508: First of all, I want to point out that it really ran towards the cloud and embraced it. To be frank, many applications in the OT world are not time critical and can be migrated to the cloud today to take advantage of those same advantages: outsourced infrastructure, no software maintenance, universal access, elastic scalability, and a pay for use consumption model. The cloud cannot solve the data integration issues already mentioned, but placing all different systems in the cloud is a better starting point.
