Bently Nevada 3500/15E Adjusting the function generator Frequency

Rotor acceleration

1) Disconnect PWR, COM/-, and SIG/+field wiring on the channel

Terminals on the tachometer input/output module.

2) Connect the test equipment and run the software as described in section 5.1.5.1

(Test equipment and software settings - tachometer).

3) Adjust the function generator frequency to provide the speed level

Below the set value of rotor speed too high, above the rotor speed too low

Set value. Maintain the function generator at this frequency for a sufficient amount of time

The acceleration returns to zero rpm.

Press the RESET switch on the Rack Interface Module (RIM). verification

The OK indicator light on the tachometer lights up

Acceleration is green, there is no alarm in the current value field

5) Adjust the frequency of the function generator so that the speed/minute reading is just

Exceeding the acceleration over alarm/alarm 1 set point level. Wait 2 or

3 seconds after the alarm time delay expires and verify the bar chart

The color of the acceleration indicator has changed from green to yellow

The current value field represents an alarm. Note - rotor acceleration

(rpm/min) is the rate of change in rotor speed (rpm). therefore

The acceleration increases as the frequency of the function generator increases.
