German technical background VOK ®- AP 1958 Wax powder
VOK ®- AP 1958 is a special organic modified aluminum magnesium silicate compound, which has good compatibility with unsaturated polyacrylate, epoxy, vinyl acetate and other resins. When coatings and adhesives have high requirements for viscosity control and sagging resistance, VOK ®- AP 1958 is more effective than other rheological aids. Because of its easy dispersion, low dust and high efficiency, VOK ®- AP 1958 is a good choice for your formulation design.

Thixotropy and anti sagging:
VOK ®- The good rheological properties of AP 1958 ensure that the system has good anti sagging and anti sinking properties no matter in the case of high viscosity or low viscosity. Because of this unique rheological property, VOK ®- AP 1958 is suitable for paint with high solid content, and it is also suitable for metallic flash paint, which can help metal to be arranged in a directional manner, replacing part of CAB.
Use and addition method of solvent:
Solvents such as xylene, styrene and toluene are used in paints and coatings. In order to obtain the maximum utility, we suggest that the VOK ®- AP 1958 is added to the solvent, although it can be directly added to the resin or the mixture of resin and solvent.
If VOK ®- AP 1958 is directly added to the resin. We need high shear rate stirring (~4000rpm) to obtain good dispersion. The addition amount is usually equivalent to that of fumed silica and polyphthalamide wax, about 0.2-0.6%.
Storage stability:
If it is stored in a dry place and the package is not opened, the storage period is 12 months when the temperature is 0 ℃ - 30 ℃.
