Zeolite is a naturally formed or artificially synthesized highly crystallized silicate aluminate, its chemical formula is usually [Mx/ N (AlO2)] X ·[SiO2] Y ·mH2O. Due to the ionization of Si4+ and Al3+, the main framework of zeolite molecules is electronegative. The n in the molecular formula stands for positive cation charge. In naturally occurring zeolites, charge equilibrium is achieved by M(monovalent or polyvalent metal cations), such as Na+ or Ca+.
