Air Suspension Advantage :
1. Air springs increase spring rate and vastly improve vehicle stability, that means a safer and more comfortable ride.
2. Soaks up bumps, reduces the frequency of vibration while driving on the road, prevents the damage of the other parts from the heavy loading vehicles.
3. The cushioning principle is adopted, the shock absorption performance is obviously improved, and the passenger comfort is improved.
Air Suspension
Instead of the metal spring mechanism, strong rubber bags act as air containers. The bags are then connected to an air compressor and an air reservoir. The compressor does the job of inflating and deflating the bags, which is how the car gets raised and lowered. The resulting effects are a smoother ride and versatility in performance. These systems come with a control unit that's located inside the car to give the driver complete control over the system. As this set-up is just a modification of a traditional system, changing how your car performs is just a matter of purchasing a kit.
Air Suspension Features:
As the car's suspension system is an often-overlooked area. From a comfort and safety standpoint, your car's suspension is integral to how your car drives. Shock absorbers and coil springs help absorb and direct road force, maintaining wheel oscillation, jounce and rebound.
However, every time you add or take away weight to a vehicle, speed up or slow down, or turn left or right, this challenges what the shock absorbers and springs are capable of. Traditional stock shocks and springs are designed and installed with only a fixed set of situations in mind.
Honggu Air suspension systems essentially replace a vehicle's coil springs with air springs. The air springs are simply tough rubber and plastic bags inflated to a certain pressure and height to mimic the coil springs. But the similarities end there. By adding in an on-board air compressor, sensors and electronic controls, today's air suspension systems provide several advantages over all-metal, conventional springs, including near-instant tuning, and the ability to adapt handling to different situations and vary load capability.
Whether the system is manual or electronic, or installed by a weekend mechanic or a seasoned tech, air suspension can lower a car to improve its street cred, even out a heavy payload, or simply improve the ride of a vintage Detroit metal street monster.
Shock absorbers and how they work
The shock absorbers reduce and slow down the vibrations from the springs, which is why technically they are correctly referred to as vibration dampers. Vibration dampers convert kinetic energy into thermal energy through fluid friction. This involves the flow of oil being slowed down by the valve passages inside the damper.
Air Spring
air spring, load-carrying component of an air suspension system used on machines, automobiles, and buses. A system used on buses consists of an air compressor, an air-supply tank, leveling valves, check valves, bellows, and connecting piping. Basically, an air-spring bellows is a column of air confined within a rubber and fabric container that looks like an automobile tire or two or three tires stacked on top of one another. The check valves admit additional air to the bellows from the air-supply tank to maintain vehicle height when the load is increased, and the leveling valves vent excess air from the bellows when the vehicle rises because of unloading. The vehicle thus remains at a fixed height regardless of load. Although an air spring is flexible under normal loads, it becomes progressively stiffer when compressed under an increased load.
Air Spring Applications
Air springs are widely utilized. Commonly as actuators in amusement park rides, packaging equipment, clutch systems, conveyor belts and scissor lifts, they also act as vibration insulators in centrifuges, commercial laundry machines, measuring and weighing machinery, and textile looms. While the air spring has impacted many industries like oil, logging, construction and manufacturing, it is most prominent in the automobile industry where the air spring is used in suspensions for vehicle brands like Lincoln, Cadillac, Hummer, and Jeep.
Prior to installation, inspect air spring for the following:
• Dents caused by deformities in the rubber
• Cloth pinch or separation
• Visible cord fabric
• Air pockets in the rubber
Periodically inspect air spring assembly for the following types of damage:
• Tears, slices or punctures caused by external objects such as road debris
• Stress cracks caused by overheating
• Damaged connection bolts from excessive tightening during installation
• Damage to air spring and mounting surfaces from overloading, such as tears, bends, cracks and stripped thread
