The market demand of CB has been rising rapidly in China since last year, feed producers and end users began to recognize the outstanding features or in other words natural advantages of the CB can provide more benefits and efficiency which other bacteria can’t. Firstly, CB like other beneficial bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis or Lactobacillus, provides functions like maintaining the balance of intestinal flora, reducing the diarrhea rate, improving the feed efficiency and body immunity and so on, on top of these, CB is unique because it’s absolute anaerobic and also it’s in spore form. CB has much stronger adhesion, it can colonize and reproduce in cecum where is completely anaerobic, it produces beneficial metabolites such as butyric acid, which is an essential nutrient for getting energy and repairing intestinal mucosa; it produces Antimicrobial peptides, which kills some harmful bacteria, and helps other beneficial bacteria to grow; also produces amino acid and vitamin E, enzymes and so on. It plays as a gate keeper at the final line, helping the intestine to digest the last bit of nutrients from feed before leaving the body as feces, increasing feed efficiency. Second, CB is in spore form which gives it high resistance to high temperature, acids, alkalis, radiation and chemicals. This spore form feature allows CB to survive extreme acid conditions in the stomach and bile salts in the intestines, as well as high temperature during feed production, transportation and storage, gives CB longer shelf/feed life over 18 months and it can be applied along with some antibiotics to treat bacterial infections.
