The bearing consists of a series of thrust plates and roller assemblies with compression sleeves separating the stages. The component design and overall match grinding make this bearing unique. The design of the sleeves, along with the precision match grinding of the components, allows the load to be equally applied through the stages of the bearing.
Tandem thrust bearings TAB-017043-201 are designed to be used in horizontal shaft applications (extruder gear drives) and it is essential that a sufficient thrust load be applied to prevent roller slip. Typically, the minimum load required is expressed as a ratio of the bearing’s dynamic load rating (C)to the applied load (P). Loads representing C/P > 12 must be avoided and loads where C/P falls between 8 and 12 should be avoided.
