Hot pressing elbow is a kind of elbow made by hot pressing process. It is a kind of pipe fitting. Normalizing can eliminate the network cementite over the eutectoid hot pressing elbow, for the subeutectoid hot pressing elbow can refine the lattice, improve the comprehensive mechanical properties, it is more economical to use normalizing instead of quenching process for elbows with low requirements. Quenching is a heat treatment method in which the elbow is heated to above the critical temperature, held for a period of time, and then put into the quenching agent quickly to make the temperature suddenly decrease and cool it at a speed greater than the critical cooling speed, thus obtaining the unbalanced structure dominated by martensite. Quenching increases the strength and hardness of steel, but reduces its plasticity.
