The flat dilatometer test (DMT) provides a quick, precise, economical way to test the soil mechanical characteristics in site, the test result features very good consistency with other in situ testings. The DMT was founded by the geotechnical professor Marchetti from Aguila collegue of Italy, it has been used all around the world and already included in the ASTM and Eurocode standards.

Parameters can be test: lateral pressure factor Ko, pore water pressure U, undrained shear strength Cu, sand effective internal friction angle Φ, foundation bed refraction force factor Kn, overconsolidation ration OCR, compression modulus, elastics modulus, shear modulus, soil layer divide and naming, compaction control, unit weight, sandy soil liquidation, etc.
Can use static cone penetration machine or dynamic penetration hammer to press into the soi
