Risers covering agent

This product is applied to the large ladle to preserve the heat of liquid metal.

Pouring timing: When the height of molten steel is 2/3 of the riser. You can also put the powder right after casting, the whole process need to be completed before the liquid metal surface solidification. Please make sure that the cast height is lower than the riser’s height, in order to be convenient to put the covering powder. The insulation effect is obviously weakened if you put the powder after the liquid metal surface solidification.

Putting sequence: for the multi-riser cast parts, put the powder from far to near according to the risers’ position.    

Put volume: put in the powder according to the riser’s upper diameter, cast part’s size, or the thickness of the cast parts. Generally, the total weight should be 1.2-1.5% of the whole weight of the liquid metal in the riser.

from the  moisture.
