The drawing is intended only to illustrate the dimensions essential for interchangeability.The drawings are intended only to illustrate the essential dimensions of the gauge.

(1) Dimension E is the reference diameter associated with dimension S.

(2) The sharp part of the edge of the thread shall be broken with a radius of approx. 0,5 mm.

PURPOSE: To check:

(a) Protection against bulb-neck damage by the rim of the E27 lampholder.

(b) Contact-making in E27 lampholders with respect to lamps having dimensions adverse to contact-

making.

TESTING:

(a) When the gauge is screwed fully home with a torque of:
- 1,0 Nm* for ceramic holders,
- 0,4 Nm* for alltoher holders,
there shall be a clearance** between the gauge and the edge of the rim of the lampholder.

(b) In this position, and with the lampholder connected in the test circuit as shown, the indicator

lamp shall light.

* An increase of these values is under consideration.

** A feeler gauge with an approximate thickness of 0,08 mm and a width of 5 mm shall be used to check

that this clearance exists over the full circumference.
The test is repeated for the other holder contact.
