Horizontal cope type piercing mill has the following characteristics:
Its roller is cone type, and roller diameter gradually becomes bigger from the direction of inlet to exit which is accordant with the increase of metal flow speed while piercing, thus it reduces the metal shearing force on the circumference and flaws of inside and outside the shell. It makes good surface, concentricity and even wall thickness of shell. It’s suitable for all kinds of metal piercing, especially for those hard deformed metal such as high-alloy steel and stainless steel;
Large elongating with more than 4 times elongating coefficient and large diameter expansion of 30%. It helps to adopt minimum billet specifications and produce wider shell specifications; The two main rollers are arranged left and right and guiding shoes up and down, and the machine cover can rotate by 90°, so it’s quick to replace the rollers and guiding shoes and it improves productivity;
It’s easy to adopt down rolling process which is stable running; The structure of clamping roller of exist stand is a whole, and it’s rigid and convenient to change;
Mandrel car is driven by low inertia DC motor or AC frequency changing motor and dragged by steel wire rope so that it can position accurately with high speed and efficiency; Hydraulic locking and balancing are adopted in the mill, which reduces the rolling clearance to minimum and stabilizes rolling performance.
