PV interconnect products have a lot of nicknames: tabbing ribbon, interconnect wire, bus bar, stringing ribbon, flat wire, PV ribbon, as well as others. The dimensions are not yet standardized and even more varied than the names we use to describe them. There are three basic specification groups for tabbing ribbon: copper core specifications, finished material dimensions and tolerances, and solder coating specifications.
The PV ribbons is tinned copper ribbon with hot-tin-dip solder plated on all sides of PV ribbons. There are two kinds of PV ribbon-bus ribbon & interconnect ribbon. They can also be divided to be lead free tinned copper ribbon & leaded tinned copper ribbon according to their lead content. They are used to interconnect solar cells to be solar modules. There are different kinds of sizes for PV ribbons, such as 0.08/0.1mm*1mm, 0.1mm*2mm & etc.
