The construction of the road widening involved the use of Hongxiang Geocell as a cost-effective and sustainable solution to help prevent erosion of the motorway’s steep embankments, ensuring maximum stability with minimal maintenance.
Hongxiang Geocell erosion control products can help with both the surface protection and the structural stability of soil slopes.
Approximately 3000m2 of Hongxiang Geocell, was installed on the surface of the 6m-high embankments. Once secured with pins, the cells were filled with a layer of topsoil, which was then hydroseeded.
The strong and flexible cellular structure was specifically designed to prevent the movement of the topsoil layer, whilst its superior permeability supported the free flow of water and nutrients, promoting a healthy soil environment and encouraging the growth of vegetation.
