Why to Dry Biomass Materials?
Fresh wood log or wood sawdust contains too much moisture. In certain circumstances the moisture can be evaporated so easily that wood materials will be shrunk,cracked,bent or even mildewed, and thus wood pellets or briquettes density and quality will be badly affected.That’s why drying machine is necessary prior to the pelletizing or briquetting stage. We offer two kinds of drying machines which are rotary drum dryer and pipe dryer. Generally speaking, the proper moisture content for creating qualified pelles or briquettes is 8%-15%.
Introduction of airflow sawdust dryer
The airflow sawdust dryer, also called pipe dryer or flash dryer for sawdust , is professionally designed for drying materials like sawdust, rice hull, wood chips, wood shaving, wheat straw, and corn stalks, paddy straw , etc. Moisture in the raw materials of less than 40% can be drying one time to meet the requirement for wood pellets production. In addition, airflow sawdust dryer is considered as the most inexpensive sawdust dryer, which is highly recommended for bio-pellets production capacity less than 1000kg per hour.

Working Principle of airflow sawdust dryer
Wet biomass materials are fed into pipe dryer by conveying device, at the same time, heated air is driven to the dryer. Then the two are fully blended and move forward inside the whole pipes due to the powerful fan blower suction. Moisture evaporates when the biomass materials go through all the pipe. At the discharging hole material is released.
1. Wide application. Not only for biomass fuel producing,but for drying materials in chemical, pharmacy,building industry.
2. Low cost, good drying effect. Invest in a little money but get considerable profits.
3. Can dry material with moisture content of below 55% and diameter of less than 3mm.
4. Low energy consumption, low noise. Easy to install and maintain.
How To Choose Air Dryer?
We offer pipe dryer in two different types which are one hot air boiler dryer and two hot air boilers dryer. For biomass material whose moisture content is less than 35%, we recommand the one boiler pipe dryer as it can eliminate more than 20% moisture content; but for those contains 35%-50% moisture contant material, the two boilers pipe dryer is necessary because of its powerful drying effect.
