Wood chips rotary dryer is the necessary machine used to reduce the raw materials moisture content from 35-45% to 8-12%. The materials can be wood sawdust,wood chips,rice husk,rice straw...etc. The size should be less than 3-5mm,so such airflow sawdust dryer is an important equipment for wood pellet making and biomass briquetting.
Wood chips rotary dryer is applicable for various biomass, such as forage, grain, wood chips, chicken manure, etc. The heating medium doesn’t touch the materials directly.Inside the rotating cylinder, there is a concentric cylinder in which materials move forward. Flue gas enters the annular space between the shell and wall of inside cylinder, then enters the concentric cylinder through connecting pipe. Also, there is a different trend of flue gas. The concentric cylinder is first, then the annular space where materials go forward. To discharge the moisture released from the materials, moderate air draught by fan is necessary. However, the amount would be greatly less compared with the direct dryer. Because the air speed is slow (generally 0.3-0.7m/s), exhaust gas brings litter dust. Gas solid separation equipment is barely needed. On many occasion, we can also adopt natural ventilation to exhaust the moisture.
Drying Temperature Technical Consultation and Test
The inlet hot air temperature could be 100- 180 °C.
The outlet hot air temperature could be 80-100°C
Main raw materials used for heating fule can be wood ,wasted wood,coal,etc...which the resource recycling use.
Working principle
Materials are sent to hopper of wood chips rotary dryer by belt conveyor or bucket elevator.The barrel is installed with slope to horizontal line. Materials enter the barrel from the higher side, and hot air enters the barrel from the lower side, materials and hot air mix together. Materials go to the lower side by gravity when the barrel rotates. Lifters on the inner side of barrel lift materials up and down to make materials and hot air mix completely. So drying efficiency is improved.
