All the Ultra Purge grades are effective at color changes, carbon removal, material changes and machine shutdowns/startups.
Expanding agents in the Ultra Purge allow it to effectively clean the back of the flights of the screw which is typically the most difficult to clean area of the screw. Mechanical purge compounds that work by scrubbing the machine clean struggle to remove contamination from this part of the screw. The Ultra Purge is also designed to thoroughly clean the nozzle and the check ring of injection molding machines.
Companies that have been using resin to purge their machines will typically see a 50-70% reduction in downtime and scrap by switching to the Ultra Purge. Also, injection molders typically use 2-3 times less Ultra Purge compared to conventional commercial purge compounds. The combination of reducing scrap, downtime and/or the amount of purge needed to clean the machine results in a large savings for injection molding companies.
