Overview
Magnetic Separator is a device which is designed to assist with the purification and separation of process streams. The heart of each separator is magnetic system, which adopts high quality ferrite materials and rare earth magnets, the average magnetic induction intensity on the shell surface is 100~600mT. This product has the advantages of simple structure, big processing capacity, convenient operation and easy maintenance.
Application
Magnetic separator is suitable for the wet magnetic separation of the materials whose granularity is below 3mm such as magnetite, pyrrhotite, calcined ore, ilmenite etc, and can also be used for iron removal work from coal, non-metal ore and construction materials.
The wet type permanent-magnetic cylindrical separator is a common magnetic separator that can be widely used in iron ore separation. It is suitable for separating strong magnetic minerals. In recent years, it’s also used as concentrating equipment for replacing the magnetic dewatering tank before filtration.
Basic Structure
The wet type permanent-magnetic cylindrical separator is mainly composed of cylinder, magnetic system, trough and transmission part. The cylinder is welded by 2-3mm stainless plate, and the end covers are aluminum casting. The two parts are connected with stainless screws and cylinder. The motor drives cylinder and moves circularly through gearbox. The magnetic system which is equipped inside cylinder is an open style. The magnet is fixed on the foundation plate of field yoke by stainless screws. The shaft of field yoke stretches out of cylinder and connecting levers are fixed at the end of shaft. Magnetic system obliquity can be adjusted by tripping connecting levers and the obliquity can be fixed after adjusting well. The working area of trough is made of stainless plate. Machine frame and other parts of trough are welded by ordinary steel.
Working Principle
The pulp flows into the trough from the pulp box, and under the water flow of the feeding spray pipe, the ore particles will go into the feeding area of the trough in the loose condition. In the magnetic field, the magnetic ore particles will have magnetic gathering and form magnet group or magnet chain which is influenced by the magnetic force inside the pulp and moves to the magnetic pole, finally can be attached to the cylinder.
Since the polarity of the magnetic pole along the rotary direction of the cylinder is alternately arranged and fixed when working, when the magnet group or magnet chain rotate with the cylinder, it will have magnetic mixing due to the alternation of the polarity, as a result of which, the non magnetic ore such as gangue mixed up with the magnet group or magnet chain will drop down during the rolling process, and the magnet group or magnet chain that is finally attached to the surface of the cylinder is concentrate. The concentrate rotates to the edge of the magnetic system where the magnetic force is the weakest along with the cylinder, and under the water flow of the discharging spray pipe, it will be discharged to the concentrate chute. If the roller is all magnetic roller, the ore discharging is completed by brush roll. The non magnetic and weak magnetic minerals are kept in the pump and are discharged from the chute with the pulp to become gangue.
