Angular contact ball bearings have raceways in the inner and outer rings that are displaced with respect to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. In particular, double row angular contact ball bearings can accommodate radial and axial loads acting in both directions. In addition, they can provide stiff bearing arrangements and can handle tilting moments.
SINGLE ROW ANGULAR CONTACT
Single row angular contact ball bearings feature raceways with high and low shoulders. These opposing raceways are designed to carry thrust load in one direction. NTN can preload the bearings at the factory so that the correct load will develop once the bearing is put into service. The bearings in this series are assembled with a specific internal clearance, so that they will have a specified contact angle under load. The standard contact angle used by NTN is 30° but, in many cases, a 40° contact angle can also be specified. We also offer special high-speed bearings with phenolic resin cages with a 15° contact angle.
DOUBLE ROW ANGULAR CONTACT
Double row angular contact ball bearings have an inner and outer ring with a double raceway. The two rows are so related that the contact angle is similar to a pair of back-to-back single row bearings. NTN’s 5200 and 5300 series offer continuous races and can carry thrust loads in either direction. The 3200 and 3300 series have filling slots, so it is necessary to mount them with the thrust load acting against the un-notched face of the rings.

Angular contact ball bearing types:
single row angular contact ball bearing:only bear a direction of the axial load. In bear radial load, can cause additional axial force must be applied to the corresponding reverse load, therefore, the bearings are generally used in pairs
double row angular contact ball bearing: Can bear larger in radial direction load primarily radial, axial two-way joint load and torque load, it can restrict shaft or shell two-way axial displacement, the contact Angle is 30 degrees.
four point angular contact ball bearing: also withstand torque load, with the single row angular contact ball bearing and double row angular contact ball bearing function
Paired configuration of angular contact ball bearing have three kinds of different configuration pattern:
(1) Back-to-back configuration,rear code is DB, The configuration of the rigid good, bear overturning moment performance good, bearing can be subject to bi-directional load
(2) Face to face configuration,rear code is DF, This configuration rigidity and the ability to withstand overturning moment as DB configuration form, the bearing can be subject to bi-directional load
(3) Series configuration,rear code is DT, This configuration also available in the same bearing place series three or more bearing, but only under single direction of the axial load
