Instruction:
The rotary dryer is a type of industrial dryer employed to reduce or minimized the liquid moisture content of the material it is handling by binging it into direct contact with a hot stove.
The dryer is made up of a large, rotating cylindrical tube, usually supported by concrete columns or steel beams. The dryer slopes slighty so that the discharge end is lower than the materials to be dreid enters the eryer, and as the dryer rotates, thematerial is lifeted by a seies of internal fins liningtheinner wallof the dryer. When the material gets high enough to roll back off the fins, itfalls back down tothe bottom of the dyre, passing throughthehot heat as it fall.
Drum or shell variations:
A rotary dryer can consist of a single shell or many, though any moe than three drumsis not usually necessary, multipel drums can reduce the amount of space that thequipment consuems, Multi shelldryes consist of several concentric tubes. Nultiple shells allow the dryer to be utilized in a more compact space. Thedrums are oftenheated directly by oil or coal burners. The addtion of a combustion chamber on the entry end helps ensure efficient fuel usage, and that homogenous dyring air temperature. As the material moves through the rotating drum is heated and moisturereleased. Some dryers also offer the option to cool, clean, shred, and/orseperate the dried material.
