Plastic Support grid is a part of Standard Tower Internals. The mainly function is to support random packing or other Tower Internals.
it is avaiable to support the cloumn packing bed, depending on the specific applicaition and the column diameter. The support Grid must be constructed in such a way that it minimally hinders gas and liquid flows. Particularly between the packed bed and the support Grid, the risk of reduced hydraulic capacity exists. Support Grids must be adapted to the trype of packing, bed height, liquid holdup, possible additional weight caused by fouling and the design temperature for specific applications.
Support Grids requires a support ring and ,depending on the diameter and or the supporting loading, one or more internal support beams. If hihg gas velocities, pressure surges or flooding may occur, the bed support can be mechanically fastened to
the support gird
