DESCRIPTION

Laminated safety glass is made under high temperature by polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film between glasses or more layers of PVB and glass. The glass is stronger because of the layering and reinforcement, and when it does break, the plastic essentially acts like tape, holding the pieces in place instead of allowing the sharp shards to fall. This type of glass is commonly used in car windshields, explaining the spiderweb effect of cracked glass that occurs when an object slams into one.

High safety performance
Laminated glass is a kind of safety glass, the glass is designed this way in order to prevent it from shattering into sharp pieces when struck by an object or when the car is in an crash.

Security guard
Laminated glass can keep the trespasser from forcing their entry. In case this is broken by accident, it still has an interlayer of PVB to give protection. It can be made of multiple layers of thick glass and PVB film, to let it withstand bomb blasts and bullets.

Sound reduction
The PVB film have good damping effect on sound waves, therefore laminated glass has the ability to prevent unwanted noise with its sound reduction index, which is higher than that of monolithic glass that has the same thickness.

Saving energy
While skylights and the like provide natural light, they can cause glare and too much heat, which can increase air conditioning costs. A tinted laminated glass provides the best solution.

UV resistance
UV rays cause the fading of furnishings. PVB film are able to block 99% ultraviolet radiation and prevent the furniture and other items indoors from discoloring due to irradiation of ultraviolet radiation.

Defense to hurricane and earthquake
In geographical areas requiring Hurricane-resistant construction and Earthquake, laminated glass is often used in exterior storefronts, curtain walls and windows.

Good durability
SAFLAYER® PVB film is made from fresh PVB resin, that our laminated glass always maintain its strength and color. Also, it can be cleaned just like ordinary glass.

Low visible distortion
Since it is glazed in annealed form, it prevents distortion brought about by roller waves in tempered glass.
