Moving bed bio-film reactor ( Moving Bed Bio-film Reactor, referred to as MBBR ) is a kind of new bio-film reactor has high efficiency, strong ability to loading, high treatment efficiency, sludge age, less residual sludge, nitrogen and phosphorus removal effect is good, no sludge expansion, has been widelyused in foreign countries; biological suspended filler is a core component of MBBR process;The development, production of high activity of suspended packing, is to ensure the effective operation of the MBBR process.

Hydrophilicity Bio-filter media
Many research have shown that biocompatibility and hydrophilicity have a great influence on the
performance of biological filter media. Hence, choosing materials with better biocompatibility,
superior hydrophilic properties have become particularly important for ahigh efficiency bio-filter
media.
NEWSMART  has cooperated with Singapore institutions of biological filter media
from 2004 to 2007 to study and choose the best material for MBBR . By comparison test of
hydrophilicity and biocompatibility,From PP, HDPE, LDPE, AB Sand other plastic materials, finally test result show that HDPE is the most superior biological materials. And then we did dozens of HDPE comparison test again from different HDPE suppliers and different types of HDPE to study and choose the best fittable kind of HDPE .After hundreds of test and selection, we found a kind of HDPE has a very good mechanical properties ,suitable density and best performance of biocompatibility and hydrophilicity.
NEWSMART  have done many innovations for biological filter media in machine and
production process to improve the quality of the bio filter media, to keep its roundness, length,
density more uniform and unified. Hence, it provides many more physical attachment point for
micro-organisms when using HDPE filter media and also improve its hydrophilicity which favor for the growth of micro-organisms, accelerate forming membrane and improve water treatment
efficiency.

Bio-filter Media
Bio-filter media is anything inert that provides housing for beneficial bacteria that break
down dissolved solids to a less toxic form. This is a media that should not be replaced unless it
has become too clogged to function.
Biological filter media houses the natural bacteria involved in the nitrogencycle. It provides a
larger surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, allowing water to pass over the colonies,
bringing nutrients and oxygen requiredfor the nitrogen cycle.
To understand this media, first we must understand what the bacteria used for biological
filtration need to thrive:
o Environment above 55°F
o Ammonia or nitrite as food source
o Oxygen
Bacteria extract food and oxygen from the water passing over them. When particulate matter
gets into the media, decreasing water flow, it "starves" that area of oxygen and food, causing
bacteriain that area to die.
Once the bacteria have become established in the biological
media, they are difficult to destroy, exceptby over-cleaning,
using chlorinated water, or using certain chemicals.
A bacterial culture's activity will specificallydepend on its exchange surface area (substrate and
oxygen). In activated sludge, this surface area will be limited.
