     Basic knowledge: Mechanical sand filter,also known as pressure filter, is an important part of the pre-pure water pretreatment, water purification systems. Mechanical sand filter packing is mainly used to reduce water turbidity, water retention remove suspended solids, organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms, chlorine taste and odor and some heavy metal ions, ion exchange softening desalination system of pre-pretreatment equipment, water supply turbidity requirement is less than 20 degrees, the water turbidity up to 3 degrees below. 

    Mechanical sand filter are made of rubber lined steel or stainless steel, depending on the filter media into natural quartz sand filter, multi-media filter, activated carbon filter, manganese sand filter.

    Mode of mechanical sand filter also can be classified according to a single-flow filter, double filter, can be mixed according to the actual situation, can also be used separately.

    Single flow mechanical filter pipe is simple, balanced, filtration velocity is generally 4 ~ 50m / n, run cycle is generally eight hours. Double mechanical filter inlet device has upper and lower ends, the central water system is provided. The advantage is a large amount of water filtration, strong decontamination ability, long-run period, usually 20 hours, the disadvantage is more complex piping system, running less stable, more difficult to wash refueling.
