Property and Function
Cross-linked polyethylene insulated power cable are featured with high allowable working temperature of conductor, huge transmission capacity, excellent electric properties, simple cable accessories and convenient installment and laying, so that they are widely used in the power system today.

The cable can be applied to the neutral-point solid grounded power transmission line system with A.C. rated voltage 127/220kV(Um=252kV)
Properties of Application
1. During the normal operation of cables, the max permissible continuous operating temperature of conductor should not exceed 90°C.
2.Conductor short-circuit temperature should not exceed 250 °C(When max substaining period will not exceed 5 seconds).
3.The min permissible bending radius during the cable laying is normally 25 times of the diameter of cables.
4.Free from restrictions of level difference along the route during the cable laying.
5.Pre-heated is needed when the temperature is below 0 °C during the cable laying.

Typical Constructional Specification
1. Conductor
Conductor is made up of copper or aluminum. Cables below 800 mm2 stranded by drawing and pressing are characterized with smooth, round and high pressing coefficient; Milliken Conductor is applied to cables from 800 mm2 to 3000mm2 to reduce the skin effect and to increase the transmission capacity.
2. Semi-conducting Screen
Free-strippable and super-smooth cross-linked semi-conducting materials are used in both the conductor screen and the insulation screen. The three layers of conductor screen, insulation layer and insulation screen are coextruded to keep the close link between the insulation layer and the semi-conducting layer and to keep a smooth interface.
3.Insulation
Super-purified insulation materials are used and the purification degree of feeding room reaches 100. Moreover, in the production process, complete-sealing MOTAN feeding system is used to ensure the purity of materials. VCV production line together with SIKORA on-line eccentricity control system is adopted to monitor the insulationeccentricity.
Eccentricity of insulation layer shall not exceed 5%, i.e.(tmax-tmin)/tmax C100% ≤5%
4. Buffer layer and longitudinal Water-resistant layer
Buffer layer adopts semi-conducting flexible materials or flexible water resistant expansion materials with longitudinal water-resistant performance to wrap between the insulation screen and the corrugated aluminum sheath to satisfy and compensate for thermal-expansion during the operation of cables.
5.Corrugated Aluminum Sheath
Corrugated aluminum sheath should meet the needs of mechanical properties and short-circuit capacity, and should have radial water-resistant perfomance. The continual process of aluminum sheath extruding line has been developed under the combined effort of both BWE Company in British and our company,which adopts a method of feeding the aluminum bar and virtually realizes the continual extrusion, and which reaches a high producing effiency, convenient operation, and energy economization. The slot-free aluminum sheath is either spiral or circular and that of the water- resistant cables is circular.
6.Separation Layer
Outer of the aluminum sheath is applied with asphalt anticorrosive coating.
7. Outer Sheath
The outer sheath of cables is made of polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene, and either the double-layer co-extrusion or triple-extrusion or triple-extrusion technology is used to extrude the conducting layer to the extrude the conducting layer to the surface of the outer layer of cables. The intergrated non-metallic outer sheath with properties of anti-flaming, termite-proof, or anticorrosive type is for your choice.
