Product name SMS series phase advancer for induction motor
Working principle SMS series phase advancer for induction motor is a high-tech device for improving the power factor of medium and large slip ring motor. The low power factor of a slip ring motor is due to the fact that its stator winding draws more current for excitation which lags the supply voltage. The device is connected in the rotor circuit of the motor to provide exciting ampere turns at slip frequency, then the stator winding will be relieved of exciting current and the power factor of the motor can be improved.

Features 1. Improve power factor of motor and power network, the power factor of motor stator side can be improved up more than 0.9.
2. High compensation efficiency: When motor is rated loaded, the stator current is decreased by 10% ~ 20%. When motor is no-load, the stator current is decreased by more than 60%.
3. Lower power consumption and temperature increase: Motor torque is the same, but current is decreased. The lower the load rate, the better the energy saving effect.
4. Great protection function, even the device failed to start up, it doesn't effect the motor's normal performance.
Service condition 1. Ambient temperature: -10℃ ~ +40℃.
2. Relative humidity: Less than 85%, non-condensation.
3. Altitude: Less than 2000m. (more than 2000m should be with special design.)
4. Installation site: Indoor service. Vertical inclination shall be less than 5 degree. No fire hazard, explossion risk, conductive dust, corrosive gas and strong vibration exist.
