Brief introduction of this SKD/CKD diesel bus shuttle assembling project in Nigeria (also suitable for other countries, in which the customs duty difference between CBU and SKD / CKD is large, e.g. at least 30% or so):

 

1) save customs duty, this is the most important factor, usually, in most of the countries, the customs duty rate for the kd parts (knocked down auto parts) is much less than the rate for the complete vehicle, the government wants to protect or develop their own industry, for example, in Nigeria, the tax rate on CBU (complete vehicle) is 35%, while only 5% for SKD, and zero percentage for CKD, this is a very good policy;

 

2) save other taxes in your country for importing such a vehicle, for example, to exept the VAT for 10 years, etc.;


3) save shipping cost, for promote this diesel bus shuttle to the world, we have been thinking out one way to save the shipping cost, why? as we all know, the diesel bus shuttle is 6.5 meters long, and 2.75 meters high, 2.2 meters wide, one 40HQ container can only load 1 unit, or we can only use RORO (however, some place, RORO is not available), thus, the shipping cost for one unit is really a large amount, after discussion among our Technical Department, it is suggested to cut the front part of the diesel bus shuttle (that is, the front "nose" part, which is not load-bearing), but with a bus shuttle shell welded, disassembling the chassis, inner trim, tyre, bumper... after calculation, if with large quantity, the average loading quantity is 1.8 units or 2 units without engine per 40HQ container. The engine and chassis, tyre... can be loaded together in one container. For our Nigerian partner, in this way, the shipping cost will be reduced by that amount for one complete diesel bus shuttle to Nigeria on average, so it is a big cost.  With this disassembling parts and loading programme, you can reduce not only customs duty but also shipping cost.


So it is more easy and simpler to start the bus shuttle assembling project from SKD bus shuttle to CKD bus shuttle and CKD longer bus.
