2.Construction of cables
BDK 's fire resistant cables have been developed to maintain circuit integrity in a fire and to ensure maximum safe evacuation or personnel with no detrimental effects like toxic gases or smoke .
The Fire Resistant cables are constructed in the following typical format:
- Stranded annealed copper conductor
- Glass mica tape fire resisting barrier
- XLPE/EPR/EVA/PE/PVC primary insulation
- Low smoke halogen free (LSOH) or flame retardent PVC sheathing

Fire resisant cables may be single -core constructions.The insulation material can be elastomeric materials (XLPE,EPR,SIR or LOSH) instead of thermoplastic(EVA,PE,PVC) to meet stringent enviroment requiment .The cables may be armored or braided , with or without metallic depenging on our customer's requirement .BDK provides PE,PVC, OR LSOH materials as outer sheath for matine and offshore application .
