Test Items
Leukocytes: aka white blood cells. Also indicates presence of infection.
Nitrites:may be a sign of urinary tract infection or other infection.
Urobilinogen:checks for liver disease.
Protein(albumin): tests for kidney function.
pH:measures urine acidity, associated with higher risk for kidney stones.
Blood:can result from infection, injury, inflammation, kidney stones or cancer.
Specific gravity:evaluates the body's water balance and urine concentration.
Ketones:caused by disorders of increased metabolism; also by unbalanced diets such as high protein/low carb, anorexia or fasting.
Bilirubin:could indicate liver or gallbladder problems such as gallstones, hepatitis, cirrhosis or tumors.
Glucose: the most common test for diabetes.
Ascorid Acid: Vitamin C is mainly used to monitor the other stripe area (such as occult blood and urine sugar) interference detection reaction
Ca:The change of urinary calcium can reflect the change of blood calcium, but urinary calcium values change is very big, the intake of calcium, protein and the discharge of phosphorus can affect the excretion of calcium, urinary phosphorus high urinary calcium is low.
Creatinine:used to determine diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy
Microalbumin:Urine trace albumin prediction of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, blood vessel damage and kidney disease sensitive indexes of early renal damage
How To Use?
SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION
Collect fresh urine in a clean container and test as soon as possible. Do not centrifuge. If testing cannot be performed within one hour after voiding, refrigerate the specimen immediately. Allow refrigerated specimen to return to room temperature before testing.
VISUAL TEST PROCEDURE
1. Remove from the bottle only enough strips for immediate use and replace cap tightly.
2. Completely immerse reagent areas of the strip in fresh, well-mixed urine. Remove the strip immediately to avoid dissolving out the reagent areas.
3. While removing, touch the side of the strip against the rim of the urine container to remove excess urine.
4. Compare each reagent area to its corresponding color blocks on the color chart and read at the times specified. Proper read time is critical for optimal results.
5. Obtain results by direct color chart comparison.
Note: All reagent areas may be read between 1-2minutes for screening positive urine from negative urine. Changes in color after 2 minutes are of no diagnostic value.Please read the result of analysis according to the given time which is noted on the color chart of the bottle.
