What is an activity carbon filter?
Activity carbon filter is a great water purification equipment which is widely used in drinking water, food industry, beverage industry and pharmaceutical industry to remove residual chlorine, color, smell, odor and turbidity.
Activity carbon filter is mainly composed of two parts:
01. Carbon bed: Water get filtered from up to down while traveling across activated carbon bed.
02. Supporting layer: Consisting of pebbles, gravels or something else. It is located under activated carbon layer to avoid activated carbon loss, and also it is much helpful in improving treated water quality.
Activated carbon(AC), also called activated charcoal, activated coal, or carbo activatus, is a form of carbon processed to have small, low-volume pores that increase the surface area available for adsorption or chemical reactions. It is a natural material derived from bituminous coal, lignite, wood, coconut shell and is activated by steam or chemical ways.
With different adsorption properties (e.g. bituminous carbon for high chlorine reduction capacity), we hold expertise in utilizing various blends of carbon to achieve specific water quality & contaminants reduction (e.g. coconut shell carbon for "sweet taste"). JG series activity carbon filter is specially designed for these applications. We have been over 8 years in manufacturing and designing of activity carbon filter since year 2006.
