Air UV Disinfection from YUP UV disinfection is a very effective tool in the fight against airborne bacteria. UV can be applied in three ways:
Directly within the workplace via downwards pointing UV lamp fittings often called UV downlighters (suitable if staff are not present in the area being disinfected)
Indirectly within the workplace via upward pointing lamp fittings (UV uplighters)
Forced air systems i.e. UV lamps mounted in air handling ductwork
UV Disinfection of air in food production areas
High bacterial levels can lead to increased levels of product spoilage and reduced shelf life. UV treatment of the air in the working area or storage areas can greatly reduce the levels of available bacteria and mould spores, reducing the incidence of spoilage.
YUP UV lamps used in food production areas are sealed within a special shatterproof coating. In the unlikely event that a lamp should break, this prevents any glass contamination of the production area.
