The Brief Description of Self-aligning Ball Bearings:
Self-aligning ball bearing has two rows of balls and a common sphered raceway in the outer ring. The bearings are consequently self-aligning and insensitive to shaft deflections and angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. Additionally, self-aligning ball bearings generate less friction than any other type of rolling bearing, which enables them to run cooler even at high speeds.
Self-aligning ball bearings are available with either a cylindrical or tapered bore. Bearings with a tapered bore can be mounted directly on a shaft or on an adapter or withdrawal sleeve.
Self-aligning Ball Bearings Features:
1.The components of the self aligning ball bearings include two rows of balls, the cage, the inner ring, and the outer ring with a common concave sphered raceway.
2. This type bearings are self-aligning and insensitive to angular misalignments of the shaft relative to the housing.
3. The bearings are produced in several design: open bearings with the basic design, sealed bearings, open bearings with an extended inner ring.
4. The self alignning ball bearings have the lowest friction of all rolling bearings.
5. The bearings are available with a cylindrical bore or, in certain size ranges, with a tapered bore

Self-aligning ball bearings with a tapered bore are always mounted with an interference fit on a tapered shaft seat or an adapter or withdrawal sleeve. As a measure of the degree of interference of the fit, either the reduction in radial internal clearance of the bearing or the axial displacement of the inner ring on its tapered seat is used.
