Phonak have just updated their behind-the-ear hearing aid portfolio.

The Ambra, Solana and Cassia have now all been replaced by Phonak Bolero Q90, Phonak Bolero Q70 and Phonak Bolero Q50 respectively. The Phonak Dalia still available as an entry level BTE.

The next main feature is AutoVoiceZoom – this is an advancement on the previous binaural sound processing whereby all 4 microphones on a pair of hearing aids communicate rapidly with each other, so as to produce an improved signal-to-noise ratio for better speech understanding. For example, in a car, the hearing aids will focus on the dominant voice and try to filter the engine noise (subject to the profile of the hearing loss); so if the front passenger is speaking the drivers left aid picks up the voice and transmits it to the right aid, whilst the right aid reduces the gain of the outside noise coming into that ear. Generally Phonak Bolero hearing aids will have directional focus infront, but with new VoiceZoom programme we can home in on speech in any direction.

Also Phonak have introduce speech-in-wind, which is an extension of VoiceZoom when wind is present. Again using high speed data transfer the Bolero hearing aids can link up the four microphones to give a better response in windy situations. Again by giving focus to the side where speech is actually coming from and dimming the sound of wind on the other side .

The WaterResistant Phonak Bolero Q-M13 is for people with a mild to severe hearing loss who are interested in a high performing, highly reliable and discreet hearing aid. This product is water, sweat, moisture and dust resistant!
