Products Description:

This bulb is manufactured specifically to replace the 25W incandescent bulbs used in 12V and 24V Aqua Signal and Hella tri-Color navigation fixtures mounted atop a masthead which use a BAY15d bayonet bulb. and is ideal for both 12 Volt & 24 Volt systems.

The lamp has been tested in fixtures manufactured by AquaSignal, Hella Marine and will also suit fixtures manufactured by others. The lamp is suitable for all boats up to 20M. We build this lamp using the latest high output 2835 LEDs and it offers a saving of around 75% in current consumption when compared to the 25W incandescent lamp it replaces.

The lamp produces very bright, red, green and white light from high output 2835 LED arrays that ensure that correct arcs of light are displayed and visible for distances in excess of that required by the COLREGS. The lamps have built in segment shielding to ensure that the coloured lights are separated and align with the coloured and white sectors of the light fixture. The red & green lights are visible for precisely 112.5 degrees and the white stern light visible is through 135 degrees. The BAY15D lamp base is fitted and aligned to ensure perfect alignment for most popular makes of Tri-Colour fixture.

The lamp is designed to minimise EMI, unlike other similar looking lamps sold for non marine use. We utilise specially designed PCB layouts which avoid tracks acting as antenna that radiate EMI (electromagnetic interference).

The lamp has integral electronic self resetting fuse and comes equipped with transient voltage (spike) protection. These combine with 36 high output SMD LEDs to give consistent light output and an extended service life.

Please regularly check that your navigation light fixtures are water tight. Gaskets harden over time and poorly sealed cable entries are prone to leaking. This is very important for bow mounted fixture that can be submerged occasionally in heavy seas. Our warranty specifically excludes damage to LED lamps due to salt water contamination.

These lamps are not polarity concious as they are fitted with a diode bridge rectifier and can therefore be connected either way without damage.
