Product Description

(Prepainted galvanized steel coil)Paint system consists of a steel substrate to which a super polyester prepaintedfinish system is applied. The system is designed to provide protection against corrosion in areas where severe to very severe environmental conditions are experienced.  Prepainted steel product is suitable for a wide range of rollformed roof and wall claddings, rainwater accessories and general building products. 

Composition

 Following pretreatment, a corrosion inhibitive primer, and top coat is applied to the outer surface and a corrosion inhibitive primer and a backer to the reverse side. These coatings are oven cured to provide colour and corrosion performance.

REMARKS:

Hot-dip galvanizing is a form of galvanization. It is the process of coating iron, steel, or aluminum with a thin zinc layer, by passing the metal through a molten bath of zinc at a temperature of around 860 °F (460 °C). When exposed to the atmosphere, the pure zinc (Zn) reacts with oxygen (O₂) to form zinc oxide (ZnO), which further reacts with carbon dioxide (CO₂) to form zinc carbonate (ZnCO₃), a usually dull grey, fairly strong material that stops further corrosion in many circumstances, protecting the steel below from the elements. Galvanized steel is widely used in applications where rust resistance is needed, and can be identified by the crystallization patterning on the surface (often called a “spangle”).

Galvanized steel has gone through a chemical process to keep it from corroding. The steel gets coated in layers of zinc because rust won't attack this protective metal. For countless outdoor, marine, or industrial applications, galvanized steel is an essential fabrication component.
