Rib Lath is expanded metal-lath stiffened with longitudinal ribs. The furring design of the mesh provides efficient background plaster for construction of partition, suspended ceilings and refurbishment works. The advantage of ribbed-lath over metal-lathing is that support centers can be increased or widened.
Applicaion: Rib lath is widely used as a plaster backing on ceilings,walls and stud partitions.Rib Lath is also ideal for refurbishing damaged or aged masonry walls when a key for rendering is not certain due to disintrgration or softening of the wall face.
When securing rib lath, the majority of fasteners should reside beside the ribs. Further-more, when overlapping two pieces of rib lath, any ribs on the first piece must be in line with their counterparts on the second.
