Features and Uses

Electromagnetic brake three-phase induction motor has the same motor features to  three-phase induction motor.                         At the same time, it has below advantages:

· Quick braking, accurate positioning, safe and reliable;

· Simple structure, easy to use and maintain;

· low vibration and noise, long life;

· No axial movement while braking start;

· Motor brake has manual release mechanism (manual release screw or manual release handle), it can be manually, and also be electrically released.

 

This electromagnetic brake three-phase induction motor is suitable for all situations: quick stop, frequent start, reciprocating operation, accurate positioning. It also can be made into motor with softer mechanical characteristic, which is suitable for situations with frequent start and bigger load inertia. For example: valve, hoisting, metallurgical, construction machinery and so on.

 

The motor is two-speed or multi-speed, it’s can be used in situations with buffer start and slow placing. For example, mixer, lifting machine, conveyor and so on.

Brake: Non-excited brake. Power is supplied by rectifier in the motor junction box.

 

Principle and structure

 

Disc-shaped DC brake is mounted on the non shaft end cover. When power is accessed, the brake starts to work. Because of electromagnetic suction effect, electromagnet attracts the armature and compresses the spring, brake disc drops from the armature and cover, the motor starts to work. When the power is cut off, the electromagnet of brake loses suction effect, the spring pushes armature to compress brake disc. With the help of friction torque the motor stops immediately.
