2. Feature
Quick and Easy
Operating in accordance with the instructions, users can complete the hardness test independently without specialized training. Five minutes is enough to complete the analysis of one water sample.
Accurate and Reliable
This method equals to the standard method that is EDTA-2Na Titration Method (GB5750-2006). The calcium ions and magnesium ions in water samples combine with EDTA-2Na successively to form chelate. On the end point of the titration, the solution presents the color of the indicator.
3. Operation
1.Fill the pipette to the 10ml mark with sample.
2.Add the water to the clean flask.
3.Add the contents of one Total hardness(I)(HR) Reagent to the flask and swirl to dissolve.A blue color indicates the hardness is 0 mg/L.
4.With swirling, add the Total Hardness(II)(HR) Reagent drop by drop until the color changes from red to blue,count the number of drops(N).
5.Calculate the results. Total hardness= N x 30(mg/L, as CaCO3).
Notes:
1. Wash the Erlenmeyer flask with deioniazed water before testing.
2. The PH of testing liquid must be controlled between 6 and 9.
3. Avoid bubbles when measuring liquid with transferpetter.
