OptiX Metro 100

The OptiX Metro 100 is case-shaped STM-1 optical transmission equipment, which is developed by Huawei. The OptiX Metro 100 supports access of various services at the access layer of a LAN or local transmission network and is targeted for service access on the mobile base station side and for transport of private line services of Tier 1 customers. Together with other equipment working at the access layer, the OptiX Metro 100 provides complete solutions for the optical transmission systems of Huawei.

The OptiX Metro 100 provides various types of service ports, supports complete network security schemes, and features flexible configuration, easy installation, and easy maintenance. In addition, the OptiX Metro 100 consumes low power and supports wind cooling.

Product Positioning

The OptiX Metro 100 is used at the access layer of a transmission network. The OptiX Metro 100 provides STM-1 optical interfaces and works with the other access-layer equipment to form an entire equipment group at the access layer of a transmission network, therefore constructing a complete OptiX product series of Huawei.

Product Overview

The OptiX Metro 100 is new-generation optical transmission equipment developed by Huawei for the access layer.

The OptiX Metro 100 is a type of case-shaped equipment. The dimensions of the chassis are: 442 mm (W) x 220 mm (D) x 43.6 mm (H). Except for the power supply module, all the functional units are integrated into the one board.

The OptiX Metro 100 supports the following service models:

  • 2xSTM-1+4xFE+8xE1 (DC power supply)
  • 2xSTM-1+4xFE+8xE1 (AC power supply)
  • 2xSTM-1+8xE1 (DC power supply)
  • 2xSTM-1+8xE1 (AC power supply)
  • 1xSTM-1+8xE1+4xFE (DC power supply)
  • 1xSTM-1+8xE1+4xFE (AC power supply)
  • 1xSTM-1+8xE1 (DC power supply)
  • 1xSTM-1+8xE1 (AC power supply)

Product Features

The OptiX Metro 100 supports various power input modes, installation modes, and low power consumption.

Support for Default Settings

The OptiX Metro 100 is configured and maintained with the NMS and Web LCT, supporting the "one-click recovery to default settings" function.

Various Installation Modes

The OptiX Metro 100 can be installed in various ways. Therefore, you can select a proper installation mode according to the actual situation.

The OptiX Metro 100 supports the following installation modes:

  • Cabinet-mounting (19-inch cabinet or ETSI cabinet)
  • Wall-mounting
  • Desk-mounting

Various Power Input Modes

The OptiX Metro 100 supports the following power input modes:

  • 110 V/220 V AC power input, the power input range is 90 V to 264 V, with the frequency in the range of 47 Hz to 63 Hz.
  • -48 V/-60 V DC power input, the power input range is -38.4 V to -72 V.

The OptiX Metro 100 supports one AC power input with a switch present on the chassis.

The OptiX Metro 100 supports two -48 V/-60 V DC power inputs that back up for each other. The OptiX Metro 100 has one DC power supply switch that control the power on/off of the two DC power supplies. When the power inputs of the OptiX Metro 100 are unavailable, the VOLT_LOS alarm is reported.

Low Power Consumption, Natural Heat Dissipation, and High Integration

  • Supports a maximum power consumption of 16 W only.
  • Supports natural heat dissipation and produces low noise.
  • Supports high integration.

All the features can help carriers minimize their OPEX.
