It is know to all, that among the mercury arc spectrum for lamps only the ultraviolet at 253.7nm is strong enough to kill bacteria. The quartz glass tubes for the UV sterilizing lamps produced in our company, their transmissivity at 253.7nm is over 70%, have high reputation in the lamp factories of china. Now there is a question noticeable, in our country all the mercury lamps transmit 185nm short wave ultraviolet rays, which result in ozone, the ozone in the air even with a low density (for example 0.1ppm) can irritate person to have mucosa, headache even coma, and pollute the air seriously. To solve this problem our company has developed new ozone free transparent quartz glass tubes with excellent transmissivity at 253.7nm and transmissivity cut at short wave UV220nm. The sterilizing lamps made of this tubes have a strong sterilizing ability and no ozone produced. They are the best environmental protection products for the people.
