Using dual lipped seals and dust ring to seal. Dual lipped seals can effectively avoid internal oil leakage.
Dust ring can prevent outside dust from contacting oil seal to provide prolonged life in hostile
environments.
&Thorough system design:
Inner cam can rotate freely with shaft. Contact-sealed splash circulation can lubricate and protect
workpiece and minimize wear and tear.
Multiple oil drain plug can ensure the installation of backstop be mounted at any desired angle.
Filtered breather, oil sight gauge and purgeable grease-cavities provide a complete self lubricating system,
which shortens maintenance time.

Unique design of cylindrical rollers and wedge action weaken the backstopping contact stress,
which increases life.
2. Application of backstop (cam clutch)
The Backstop (cam clutch) are extensively used in Inclined Belt Conveyors / Bucket Elevators etc. to arrest
the rolling back of the machine in case of power shut down
or sudden stoppage of the equipment due to any reason, thereby avoiding the material
being transported to fall-off the machine thus avoiding accidents.
3. Types of backstop (cam clutch)
DSN backstop (cam clutch) are spring and sprag backstop (cam clutch) engineered for use in low speed operation.
4. Details of backstop (cam clutch)
How it works
Several irregular blocks are arranged regularly between outer ring and inner ring. When the inner ring is rotating in the
working direction, the irregular blocks contact with the outer ring and inner ring gently.
When the inner ring is rotating on the contrary to the working direction, irregular blocks will be deflect driven
by spring force and wedge outer ring and inner ring closer together to afford backstop torque.

Torque Arm Stirrup Design
Stirrup is used to locate torque arm. It must have enough resistance to shear strength (pressure).
When user selected arm length is different, the withstood Toque Arm Reaction Force also changes.
The pin hole on the stirrup must be long and be installed at the same direction of torque arm, to
relieve backstop outer race from undue parallel forces.
When backstopping, the pin on the stirrup has no force effected. Its function at this time is to prevent reverse rotation
at normal runtime.

Following is the minimum Torque Arm Reaction Force borne by the stirrup when torque arm length is
standard.

Clearance: the clearance between backstop torque arm bottom and stirrup surface is
recommended to be 8 -12 mm.
