Shipping containers do not just ship goods anymore. They become workshops, tool rooms, storage units, camp buildings, and homes. A 20 or 40-foot container is a ready-made steel room — dry, secure, and standing exactly where you need it. The question is what goes inside, and how it gets there.
Most container storage gets improvised: wooden pallets, welded brackets, shelves bolted to the walls with a drill and a prayer. This is the alternative. It is cargo container shelving — a complete KD boltless rack, sized to fit inside a shipping container, that arrives flat-packed and assembles by hand in minutes.

Why containers and camps need racking that ships flat
Everything that goes into a container building has to arrive in one. That changes the rules for storage:
Freight is the budget. A welded rack that is shipped assembled eats space and costs more. Flat-packed KD racking fills the same box with more actual storage.
Remote sites have no hardware store. A mining camp, oil field, or container home site is not near a supplier. If the rack needs a special bolt you did not pack, the project stops.
Tools are scarce in the field. Not every site has a drill, a wrench set, or a welder. Racking that assembles with hands alone is racking that actually gets built.
Sites move. Camps relocate. A KD rack takes down as fast as it goes up, and moves to the next location in the same flat pack it arrived in.

Standard shipping containers share a common interior width of about 2.35 meters. This racking is designed around that dimension — the uprights and beams are configured so a rack row fits the container width with room to spare, and lengths are planned to fill a 20 or 40-foot run.
The practical effect:
A 20-foot container can be fitted with a racking run along one wall, leaving the floor clear for movement
A 40-foot container can take a full-length row, or two shorter rows with an aisle between
Main frames plus add-on frames extend the row end to end — the rack grows to fill the container, not the other way around
Shelf heights are adjustable, so the same rack holds shallow bins today and tall boxes tomorrow

Boltless in the bush: no tools, no welder, no drama
The boltless system is not just convenient — it is the difference between a rack that gets assembled and a rack that waits for a tool that was not packed. The uprights have keyhole slots; the beams carry locking clips. Slide the beam in, push down, it locks. To move a shelf, lift it out and re-seat it.
