Heavy Duty Tool Cabinet – Steel Storage with Adjustable Shelves for Workshops | Shop-Floor Tough
Built for the floor, not the showroom
Walk through a workshop and look at what happens to furniture. Cabinets get banged by forklifts. Doors get slammed. Oil and dust settle on every surface. A cabinet that looked fine in a catalog can look ten years old within its first year on a shop floor.
This cabinet is built for that floor. It is a heavy duty tool cabinet: welded cold-rolled steel, folded from whole sheet, finished in baked-on powder coating. The shelves inside adjust to what you store, and the whole unit is built to be used hard, daily, for a long time. This is shop equipment, not showroom furniture.
What “shop-floor tough” actually means
“Heavy duty” is a marketing word until you look at the construction. On this cabinet, it means four specific things:
Welded steel, not assembled panels. The body is cold-rolled steel folded from whole sheet and welded, not screwed together from thin pieces. There are no particle-board sides to dent and no laminate to peel.
A finish that survives the shop. Electrostatic powder coating — the same class of coating used on industrial equipment — resists oil, grime, and the scuffs that come with daily use. Wipe it down and it looks like it did on day one.
Hardware built for repetition. Doors, hinges, and catches are specified for thousands of open-close cycles, because that is what a workshop puts them through.
Stability under load. A wide base and full steel frame keep the cabinet planted when drawers are loaded and doors are swung. It does not wobble when you work.
None of this shows in a photo. All of it shows in the second year, when the cheap cabinet is sagging and this one is still square.
Adjustable shelves: set the space to your stuff
Fixed shelves fight you. You have a space for small parts bins and a stack of boxes that does not fit, so it sits on the floor. This cabinet’s shelves adjust instead — the shelf brackets slot into preset holes in the side panels, so you move a shelf up or down in under a minute, no tools beyond your hands.
What that buys you in practice:
Tall items — spray cans, battery packs, tool boxes — get their own height instead of being stacked sideways
When the inventory changes, the layout changes with it; the cabinet does not get rearranged around
You can balance the weight: heavy gear low, light items high
Different crews can reconfigure for their own work and change it back
Adjustable shelves are the difference between a cabinet you work around and a cabinet that works for you.

Five configurations, one cabinet family
Different workshops store different things. This cabinet comes in five standard layouts so the storage matches the work:
| Configuration | What it holds | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| A — Shelves only | Large tools, boxes, bulk supplies | Warehouses, maintenance stores |
| B — Shelves + pegboard doors | Large items plus hand tools on the doors | Auto repair, fitting shops |
| C — Multi-function | Tools, parts bins, precision items in drawers | Machine shops, repair centers |
| D — Four-door | Two separately managed sections | Schools, shared workshops |
| E — Drawer + shelves | Precision tools above, bulky gear below | CNC shops, toolrooms |
The point of five configurations is not variety for its own sake. It is that a workshop should buy the layout it needs, not the one the supplier happens to stock.
Why steel, when wood and plastic are cheaper
Workshop storage gets compared against two cheaper options, and both lose on a shop floor:
| This steel cabinet | Wooden cabinet | Plastic storage | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shop-floor wear | Welded steel, powder coated | Dents, chips, stains | Scratches, cracks |
| Oil and grime | Wipes clean | Stains permanently | Some stains set in |
| Weight capacity | Heavy duty, steel shelves | Moderate | Light |
| Longevity | Years of daily use | A few seasons in a busy shop | Replaced frequently |
| Security | Lockable doors | Often no lock | No lock |
Wood looks fine in an office and dies in a workshop. Plastic is cheap and brittle. Steel is the material that treats the cabinet as part of the production equipment — because that is what it is.
Where this cabinet earns its keep
Factory maintenance rooms
Shared tooling for the whole plant, used by every shift, loaded and unloaded hundreds of times a week. This is the home run case for heavy duty steel.
Machine shops and toolrooms
Precision tooling, gauges, and fixtures that need clean, organized, accessible storage — adjustable shelves and closed doors do both.
Auto repair and fitting shops
Oil, brake dust, and constant tool changes. A powder-coated steel cabinet wipes down at the end of the day and looks the same in the morning.
Warehouses and stores
Bulk supplies, tools, and consumables behind closed steel doors, with shelves set to the box sizes you actually stock.
Schools and training workshops
Built to survive students. Steel takes the punishment, and adjustable shelves let the layout change term to term.

Questions buyers ask
How heavy duty is this cabinet?
The body is welded cold-rolled steel with a powder-coated finish and steel shelves. Exact load ratings depend on the configuration and how it is loaded — tell us what you plan to store and we will confirm the numbers for your spec. We would rather give you the right number than a guess.
How do the adjustable shelves work?
Shelf brackets slot into preset holes in the side panels. You move a shelf up or down in under a minute, without tools, to fit the height of what you store.
What configurations are available?
Five standard layouts, from shelves-only (A) to drawer-plus-shelf (E). Each is a real production layout, not a cosmetic difference — the configuration changes what the cabinet holds and how it is organized.
What colors are available?
Industrial blue, grey-white, and grey are standard. Custom RAL colors are available for larger orders, so the cabinet can match the workshop or carry a company color.
Can I get a custom size?
Yes. Custom sizes and internal layouts are available on request. The standard size is 1800 × 1000 × 500 mm — about 71 × 39 × 20 inches.
How does delivery work?
Sea freight worldwide, flat-packed or assembled. Send your port, quantity, and configuration, and we will reply with the container plan, packaging dimensions, and delivery time.
The cabinet that keeps its shape
A workshop doesn’t need a cabinet that looks good in a brochure. It needs one that looks the same after two years of daily use — doors that still square up, shelves that still hold, a finish that still wipes clean. That is what “shop-floor tough” means, and it is built in, not claimed.
Request a quote with your configuration and your port. We will confirm the layout, the shelf setup, and the freight in one reply.
