Ring-blowing cartridges are made by continuously winding polypropylene filaments into a uniform depth filter, while melt-blown cartridges use a blown microfiber process. Ring-blowing offers higher mechanical strength and better resistance to high differential pressure, making it suitable for more demanding applications.
2. Can this cartridge be used for potable water filtration?
Yes, the polypropylene material is FDA-approved for food contact and is commonly used in drinking water systems. However, you should verify local regulations and ensure the cartridge is properly installed in a certified housing.
3. What is the maximum operating temperature? Can it handle steam sterilization?
The maximum continuous operating temperature is 80°C. Intermittent exposure to higher temperatures (e.g., 90°C for short periods) may be possible, but we recommend not exceeding 80°C to avoid deformation. Steam sterilization (121°C) is not recommended for this polypropylene cartridge.
4. How do I select the correct length and end cap configuration?

6. Is this cartridge compatible with strong acids like sulfuric acid?
Polypropylene is chemically resistant to most acids, including sulfuric acid up to 98% concentration at room temperature. However, temperature and concentration affect resistance. For specific chemical compatibility, please request our chemical resistance chart or consult our technical team.
