1. Product Introduction
Channel steel is a hot-rolled structural steel with a U-shaped cross-section, composed of web and flange plates. It features high rigidity, excellent bending resistance and stable load-bearing performance. As one of the most widely used steel profiles in construction and mechanical engineering, channel steel is manufactured from carbon steel and low-alloy steel through integral hot rolling, precision straightening and fixed-length cutting. With integrated forming, no welding seam and uniform mechanical properties, it is widely applied in steel structures, municipal projects, mechanical equipment, vehicle frames and supporting systems.
2. Production Process
Channel steel is produced by fully automatic hot rolling process.Production flow: Billet heating → high-temperature hot rolling → precision forming → cooling & shaping → fixed-length cutting → straightening → surface finishing → quality inspection & packing.Integrated hot rolling ensures dense metallurgical structure, high overall strength, good straightness and dimensional accuracy. Compared with cold-formed sections, hot-rolled channel steel has better impact resistance and fatigue resistance, suitable for long-term load-bearing and outdoor working conditions.
3. Common Material Grades
Q235B Carbon Steel (General Grade)Good toughness, plasticity and weldability with cost-effective performance. Widely used for general building structures, frames and auxiliary supports.
Q355B High-Strength Low-Alloy Steel (Heavy-Duty Grade)Higher strength, hardness and impact resistance than Q235B. Suitable for heavy steel structures, equipment bases, large supports and high-load projects.
Export Standard GradesSS400 (JIS), S235JR / S355JR (EN) with stable mechanical properties for overseas engineering projects.
